DNVGL ST F101 Submarine Pipeline Carbon Equivalent

Calculate DNVGL-ST-F101 submarine pipeline carbon equivalent from material composition. Carbon equivalent is a useful indicator of weldability, and fracture toughness.

CALCULATOR : DNVGL ST F101 Section 7.2.4 Subsea Pipeline Carbon Equivalent [FREE]   ±

Calculate subsea pipeline carbon equivalent and critical metal parameter (DNVGL-ST-F101 section 7.2.4 table 7-3 and 7-4).

The carbon equivalent affects the material weldability and the formation of martensite. The carbon equivalent should be less than or equal to 0.5% or 0.005 for weldability. The critical metal parameter was developed by the Japanese Welding Engineering Society as a weld cracking criteria.

Tool Input

  • M : Mass Fraction

Tool Output

  • CE : Carbon Equivalent
  • Pcm : Critical Metal Parameter
