Calculate bolt stress from bolt load and bolt diameter.
The bolt size and thread can be calculated for either National Coarse (UNC), National Fine (UNF), Whitworth (BSW) or ISO (ISO coarse, ISO fine or ISO xtra fine)). Bolt tensile area can be calculated for either ANSI threads based on threads per inch, or ISO threads based on thread pitch. The design stress can be calculated for either SAE, ISO or ASME bolts. Bolt stress is calculated from the bolt load and the tensile area.
Use the Result Table option to display a table of bolt design stress and bolt stress versus either bolt size or bolt material.
