AS 2885.1 Pipeline Design Pressure

Calculate AS 2885.1 pipeline maximum allowable design pressure from pressure design wall thickness and allowable stress.

The maximum allowable design pressure is calculated so that the hoop stress equals the allowable stress. Use the Result Table option to table the allowable pressure versus wall thickness for the selected pipe diameter schedule.

CALCULATOR : AS 2885.1 Pipe Design Pressure (General) [FREE]   ±

Calculate ASME B31.3 general pipe design pressure from diameter, wall thickness and design stress.

The hoop stress is equal to the design stress at the design pressure. The design internal pressure includes the effect of external pressure (relevant for piping with external pressure only). For normal piping the external pressure should be set to zero.

For AS 2885.1 pipe, select the Barlow's equation outside diameter option. The manufacturing tolerance is normally ignored except for cases where the tolerance exceeds the relevant specification (eg some seamless pipe). All tolerances should be positive. The corrosion allowance should include mechanical allowance (eg threads), erosion allowance and any other allowances.

CALCULATOR : AS 2885.1 Pipeline Diameter And Wall Thickness Schedule [FREE]   ±

Calculate AS 2885.1 pipeline diameter and wall thickness.

The pressure design wall thickness is equal to the nominal wall thickness minus the corrosion allowance. The fabrication allowance is accounted for in the design factor (an additional fabrication allowance is required in some cases). Select the pipe schedule (NPS or ISO etc), pipe diameter and wall thickness, or use the user defined option. Use the Result Table option to display the pipe schedule with nominal wall thickness and pressure design wall thickness for the selected diameter.
