CALCULATOR : DNVGL-RP-O501 Section 4.11 Erosion Rate For Flexible Pipe [PLUS]   ±

Calculate the erosion rate for flexible pipe (DNVGL-RP-O501 section 4.11). The flexible pipe erosion model has been developed for ductile materials. The calculator can also be used for brittle materials, for example for sections with a similar internal profile (engineering judgement is required).

The internal diameter should be taken as the minimum internal diameter of the interlock carcass. The radius of curvature should be taken as the minimum radius of curvature during operation, including dynamic effects. A minimum geometry factor of 2.0 should be used. Maximum erosion should be limited to 10% of the carcass thickness.
