Pipeng : ASME B31.3 Process Piping : Pipeline Wall Thickness From Hoop Stress Calculation Module

ASME B31.3 Wall Thickness Calculators

Description : ASME B31.3 process piping wall thickness from allowable hoop stress calculators.

Discussion : Calculate wall thickness from allowable hoop stress and pressure. Calculate Hoop stress from wall thickness and pressure. Calculate allowable pressure from wall thickness and allowable hoop stress.

ASME B31.3 allows for a 33 % surge over pressure above the design pressure. The design nominal wall thickness should take account of manufacturing wall thickness negative tolerance. If the calculated wall thickness to diameter ratio is less than 20 use the thick wall calculators.
